ENT Specialists of Alaska has a 30-year history as the leading ear, nose, and throat specialists and facial plastic surgery practice in the state. It was formed with the goal of providing expert Ear Nose Throat care to communities throughout the state of Alaska. Our team consists of experienced providers with Alyeska Center for Facial Plastic Surgery & ENT, Geneva Woods ENT, and Anchorage Audiology Clinic who have joined together under one group — ENT Specialists of Alaska.

The patient-focused team at ENT Specialists of Alaska can diagnose and treat a range of ear, nose, and throat conditions, including sinusitis, ear infection, dizziness, and allergies. The expert physicians perform surgical and nonsurgical procedures, including rhinoplasty, deviated septum repair, and balloon sinuplasty. They also offer a variety of hearing aid options for their patients with hearing loss.

ENT Specialists of Alaska has Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) accreditation, signifying that the practice offers the highest standard of care on-site, including computed tomography (CT) machines for imaging.

Dr. Endres has been with Geneva Woods Ear, Nose and Throat since 1997. He received his undergraduate and medical degrees at UCLA and the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Endres completed specialty training in otolaryngology/head and neck surgery at the University of Iowa.

Dr. Endres completed fellowship training beyond the traditional specialty training. Throughout 1996, he was the head and neck surgical fellow at the Royal Adelaide Hospital in South Australia. In 1997, he spent six months as a senior registrar at Oxford University specifically focusing on diseases of the ear.

Since arriving in Alaska, Dr. Endres has developed a broad ear, nose and throat practice focusing on advanced otology, head-neck surgery, and sinus surgery.

He enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters and singing in various Anchorage venues.

Dr. Parrish joined Geneva Woods Ear, Nose and Throat in 2001. He obtained a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from Brigham Young University. His medical training was done at the University of Utah, School of Medicine. He completed his residency in otolaryngology/head and neck surgery at Indiana University.

Dr. Parrish is trained in all aspects of otolaryngology including endoscopic sinus surgery, thyroid surgery and pediatric otolaryngology.

He enjoys spending time with his wife and four boys. He enjoys biking, running marathons and spending time outdoors in Alaska.

Dr. Sedwick, who is board-certified in otolaryngology, is an ear, nose and throat specialist, as well as cosmetic and reconstructive facial plastic surgeon. He achieved his medical degree at the University of Utah in 1997.

In 2002, Dr. Sedwick completed his residency in otolaryngology and head and neck surgery at the University of Miami.

Upon completing his residency, he achieved a fellowship in facial plastic surgery at the University of Miami, and thereafter served as the chief of the division of facial plastic surgery at the University of Florida. Dr. Sedwick returned home to his native state of Alaska and opened Alyeska Center for Facial Plastic Surgery & ENT in Anchorage in 2006.

Dr. Sedwick consistently refines his expertise through continuing education. He frequently attends conferences and seminars to stay current in his field and provide his patients the most advanced treatment options available. Dr. Sedwick is also very active in research in otolaryngology and has published a number of academic articles related to his field.

Dr. Jennifer Wingate, MD

Dr. Wingate joined Geneva Woods Ear, Nose and Throat in 2002. She earned a degree in biology at the University of Alaska Anchorage prior to attending medical school at the University of Washington.

Before embarking on specialized training in otolaryngology, she completed an internship in internal medicine followed by a residency in emergency medicine. She completed her otolaryngology residency at the State University of New York in Buffalo, and she completed a one-year residency in otology at the Lippy Group for Ear, Nose and Throat in Ohio. She is board-certified in emergency medicine and otolaryngology/head and neck surgery.

Dr. Wingate was the one of the first ENT surgeons in Alaska to perform the implantation of the Bone Anchored Hearing Aid (BAHA) and now offers both the BAHA and Ponto.

During her time away from the clinic, Dr. Wingate enjoys spending time with her husband and four daughters. She also enjoys skiing, swimming, biking and cooking.

Dr. Jensen earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona and medical degree from Des Moines University – College of Osteopathic Medicine. After internship, Dr. Jensen proudly served in the United States Air Force as a flight surgeon, then pursued specialty training at Rowan University, achieving board certification in otolaryngology, head and neck surgery and facial plastics.

He then continued his active duty service as an ear, nose and throat specialist in Anchorage and then Las Vegas. Dr. Jensen returned to the Alaska he fell in love with while active duty, and joined ENT Specialists of Alaska in 2019.

As the full-time ENT provider at our Wasilla clinic, Dr. Jensen offers a broad spectrum of otolaryngology services such as endoscopic sinus surgery, thyroid surgery, and obstructive sleep apnea surgery. He is one of the first providers in Alaska to offer endoscopic eustachian tube balloon dilation. A Mat-Su Valley resident, Dr. Jensen enjoys time off with his wife and six children, and likes fishing, hunting and all aspects of the Alaska outdoors.

Dr. Dr. Mitchell is a board certified general otolaryngologist who joined our group in 2022. She earned an MD and Ph.D at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, graduating with honors

Following this, she completed a surgical intern year at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio and residency at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Dr. Mitchell grew up as an Air Force dependent and proudly served in the Air Force herself.

She enjoys working collaboratively with her patients and their families and takes time to ensure they understand and feel comfortable with the care plan they decide on.

She brings a unique enthusiasm to the clinic and although she finds joy in caring for patients of all ages and backgrounds, she has a soft spot for children, veterans, and the chronologically gifted (aka senior citizens).

Outside of work, she devotes her time to her husband (Jared), 3 children (Grace, Verity, Teddy), and two silver labs (Oliver and Cedar) along with various small animals the kids bring home.

Her hobbies include gardening, meditation, book club, running, crocheting, and fishing.

Dr. Lorenz earned his medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine in 2005 after graduating magna cum laude from Notre Dame University.

A double-board certified otolaryngologist and neurotologist, Dr. Lorenz completed his residency in Otolaryngology — Head & Neck Surgery at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor in 2010.

He moved to Los Angeles to complete neurotology fellowship training at the House Ear Clinic before accepting a position with the Alaska Native Medical Center.

He served as medical director of audiology and has over a decade of ENT experience. Dr. Lorenz’s subspecialty of neurotology is a branch of otolaryngology which focuses on diagnosing and treating neurological disorders of the ear.

Among the procedures he performs is cochlear implant surgery for children and adults with deafness or severe hearing loss caused by a damaged cochlea.

In his personal time, Dr. Lorenz loves backcountry skiing, mountain biking, climbing and all the outdoor activities that Alaska has to offer.

His wife Kelly is a local ophthalmologist and they share one daughter.

Dr. Jerome O. List, DDS, MD

Jerome O. List, DDS. MD has a very distinctive background as an ear, nose and throat specialist. Dr. List is trained as a medical doctor and a dentist/oral surgeon.

For patients, this means he has custom-tailored training designed to address the unique connection between these two medical fields.

Dr. List started his career in 1974 by attending the University of Costa Rica, where he also received his dental degree. He then completed training in oral surgery at the Pavlovsk Medical Institute in Leningrad, in what was then the USSR. Receiving both medical and dental training has allowed Dr. List to have additional insight into the otolaryngology – ear, nose, and throat – specialty, and he takes pride in providing excellent treatment for sinus issues, hearing problems, tonsillitis, TMJ disorders, facial and mandible fractures, sleep disorders, epilepsy with the vagus nerve stimulator, Levo therapy for tinnitus and more.

Dr. List is the director of Anchorage Project Access, which provides high-quality health care to low-income or uninsured patients, and he has worked with Kaiser Permanente. He has been in private practice in Anchorage since 1993 and speaks English, Russian, and Spanish. Dr. List is very fitness-oriented. Outside the office, he enjoys dancing, running, biking, dirt bike racing, and flying.

Valarie is a certified advanced registered nurse practitioner at Alyeska Center for Facial Plastic Surgery & ENT. She graduated from Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, Florida, with a bachelor’s of science degree in nursing in 1991.

She earned a master’s in nursing degree from the University of Florida, graduating in 1996 as a family nurse practitioner. She is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and licensed in the state of Alaska to practice as a certified advanced nurse practitioner.

Valarie began her work in the specialty of ear, nose and throat (ENT) and cosmetic/reconstructive facial plastic surgery with the Department of Otolaryngology at the University of Florida in 1998. She has worked alongside Dr. Sedwick since 1998, providing clinical evaluations and management of patients requiring ENT care and seeking facial plastic and reconstructive surgery.

She has been an injector of BOTOX® since 1998 and provides aesthetic procedures including BOTOX®, Dysport, XEOMIN®, dermal fillers Radiesse, BELOTERO® and Juvederm.

She also offers laser treatments of facial veins and pigmentation using the Aura Laser and superficial and medium depth chemical peels including the Vi Peel.

PA Becker joined Geneva Woods Ear, Nose and Throat in 2015. He obtained both bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Nebraska through the United States Military Tri-Service Physician Assistant Training Program.

He has been a certified physician assistant for over 15 years. He recently retired from the Air Force with over 27 years of service.

PA Becker is well known for his compassionate patient care and enthusiastic interest in all aspects of otolaryngology. He is especially interested in geriatric and pediatric care.

He enjoys spending time with his wife and family; his three daughters are very excited to return home to Alaska where they were all born. He enjoys cooking, kayaking and spending time outdoors in Alaska.

Heidi is a Speech-Language Pathologist. She earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees from St. Cloud State University located in St. Cloud, Minnesota. She moved to Texas in 1997 where she spent most of her career until she moved to Alaska in 2022.

She specializes in swallowing, feeding, and myofunctional interventions with extensive work with cleft lip/palate, velopharyngeal insufficiency, apraxia of speech, tethered oral tissues, tongue thrust swallow and Bell’s Palsy. She also has experience with TMJ issues, myofascial techniques and difficulties with infant feeding. She is certified in Vital Stim therapy for pediatric and adult swallowing.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and dogs while exploring all that Alaska offers including fishing and hunting.

Robert Ellis, Au.D., Clinical Audiologist

Robert is a clinical audiologist with a particular interest in amplification solutions and troubleshooting. He spent a decade and a half in retail management and the transportation industry before returning to school.

He then graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania before obtaining his Doctorate of Audiology (Au.D) from the University of Maryland.

After a few years in California, Robert moved to Alaska to take a contracted position as a clinical audiologist at the Yukon-Kuskokwim Hospital hospital in Bethel. When this contract ended, he wanted to stay in Alaska and we are thrilled to have him join the team at Anchorage Audiology.

Outside of work, he enjoys gardening, reading and exploring Alaska’s varied geography with his dog Ryder, who has moved with him from Maryland to California and now Alaska.

Clinical Audiologist

Goldie is a clinical audiologist who moved to Alaska in 2018. She completed her clinical doctorate at the University of Kansas Medical Center in 2018 and moved to Alaska for the adventure of a lifetime.

Aside from routine diagnostic audiology and hearing aids, Goldie is particularly interested in working with tinnitus management and auditory processing evaluation and services.

As a student she completed a traineeship that prepared her to provide care for patients who present with complex presentation of developmental disorders.

She very much enjoys getting to know each patient to obtain a holistic understanding of their communication difficulties.

When not serving patients, Goldie can be found outdoors enjoying the beauty of Alaska in every season. She enjoys cross country skiing, foraging, and hiking.

Kristen Schwarz, COHC
Certified Occupational Hearing Conservationist

Kristen has been a Certified Occupational Hearing Conservationist (COHC) since 2011 and been with Anchorage Audiology Clinic for nearly 30 years.

She is the Office Manager, hearing aid technician, biller and part of the welcome committee to all who walk through the doors!

Kristen is such an integral part of Anchorage Audiology, and we are so lucky to have her skills and expertise every day.

When she is not in the office, Kristen enjoys camping, kayaking, reading and spending time with her family and furbabies.
